Drove up to Zionsville for a free 7 mile event and was pretty impressed. The Indy Runners group put on a fantastic event with aid station, chipped timing, and food all for free. The course followed the Zionsville Rail Trail and then took you through rolling subdivisions.
When I started I was beating myself up over how much I am NOT the same runner I was less than a year ago...a 9:45 min pace half marathoner to now an 11:45 min pace 7 miler...I was pretty hard on myself. Then after about mile 5 I realized I felt good...I wasn't hurting, wasn't panting, I was just going slow. And I know that after a few weeks with TNT training and a few more races that I have coming up it will all come to me. The 20 extra pounds will fall off and I will feel good again soon.
All in all it was a good run...I am glad I registered. I am going to register for a half marathon next month and continue on with my morning pre dawn runs and healthy eating.

Nice 7 miler Jodi!

I understand where you are coming from. It's been really hard to accept that my fitness is not where it was at 6 months ago. But I moved & changed jobs just like you. Those are huge life changing events. And you can beat yourself up or you can tie your shoes and go for a run.
I'm down 3 pounds and am on track to have lost 20 by June 20th. Good luck my friend.

Nice job. Jodi! I think it has already come back to you. It's hard when we have major life events that potentially interfere with our fitness/training plans, but we do what we can, and you have come through all of this with a lot of grace. I know I don't comment much on your posts, but I do read them. All I can say is Portland (and your many friends here) will welcome you back when the time is right. In the interim, keep up the fabulous work!
