First time in a while where I didn't feel the "go go go" after a few minutes into the run. Was tough maintaining any sort of pace, and it showed in the time. Still, a beautiful day to run... read more

3 mile loop 3.23 mi 00:27 08:16 pace
Amusing, but true: I got the email from Daily Mile prodding me that I hadn't run in 12 days just as I finished this run.
In my defense, a cold and a busy week conspired against running last week ... read more

Eating breakfast, dropping the kiddo off at daycare, then going for the run is definitely easier than going at 5:45a. Breakfast helps.

ha, thanks. Normally, I don't care about my speed relative to others (I want to just go faster that I personally have), but it was in my face. Literally had 3 or 4 sets of joggers pull away from me today. They looked like they weren't even pushing themselves that hard. :)

Had to work to keep up any sort of pace today, just wasn't feeling the run at all. Not as cold as expected, so that was nice.

Hey Ryan, I missed these comments - I'm still debating the marathon. My ankles still feel a bit creaky, but am slowly working up the distances in my runs. I'll decide by next month, then figure out how to train. What's your next race?

I may run the Colchester Half Marathon, next. The next race that I'm really going to train for is the Iron Horse Half. If you are on the fence about the marathon - do it. You'll never regret it. Training with a group is a great experience. We train for 16 weeks for Hartford. Our first run is 9 miles. We start training the end of June. If you can do 9 by then, you can do the marathon.

I'm definitely thinking about it. It all comes back to time to train. I think the weekend group like the one you trained with will probably be the way to go. Just need to get the business off the ground, then will be able to predict schedules better.

It's a great race. I ran it last year with my sister and a friend - was a blast. It's hard to go too fast, so it ends up feeling very relaxed and easy. There are bands, people in goofy costumes, and lots of random things to see.

Hey Ryan, just saw this again - I'm going to be in Buffalo for Thanksgiving, just signed up for the Turkey Trot. It's basically the same length as the Manchester Road Race, but through downtown Buffalo (at least at the end). Any other local races you're doing aside from manchester?
