one of my goals this year was to get 5km sub-21...20:54 today, get in! new PB by 29secs. last mile was a world of pain! pace mgmt was crap 6:30, 6:42, 7:03, 0:39, the hills on the final lap were a nightmare, had nothing left in my legs, but I did it. very happy, especially as the conditions were quite humid.
20:54, finished in 60th place, which puts into context the dailymission question this week or PB or victory...60th is a long way from winning, but that PB is sweet!
started 2012 with a 22:31 PB, so nice to have carved 90secs or so off that in the last 5months, especially when focus has been long miles and endurance for marathons, not speed
mile 1 in 6:30 is also the quickest I've run 1mile...given its a hilly course, that means I could probably shift quite quick over a flat mile
not sure of Little Man's time this morning, need to wait for results to come out as he forgot his watch. took down 2 people on the line though which was cool.

Absolutely fantastic Stephen! That's a massive PB, well done you!!

Brilliant PB Stephen and very fast splits, I think if you carry on in this form your times will keep tumbling.

I think the best way to train for 5ks is by running 8+ miles. Besides, with the hills and speed work you have been doing, I'm not surprised. Great job!
