maybe, but only because it is really close to where i live. but it's not a race that i'm all that interested in.

Its an advantage to race where you train. I am running the 50 miler for the 2nd time. I ran it in 2008 also. I would love to get up there with you one of these weekends.

sure. let me know when you want to come, i'd be happy to train with you. but TNF just isn't a race I'm crazy about doing.. too much hype, you know?

I'll let you know, sounds great. The year I ran it there was 86 people at the start of the 50 and only 19 people finished. Im not sure what you mean by too much hype?
When I think too much hype I think The New York Marathon.

i mean too much hype for an ultra. NYC is supposed to be too much hype. Ultras, OTOH - ultra-laid back.. I'll take a fatass over corporate sponsors any day.

Got ya, how is training going for Umstead? Is that your first 100?

Second attempt at 100, I DNFd Rocky last year. Training is going well. I'd like weekly mileage to be higher, and I really need to get some long runs in, but overall I think I'm ok. We're doing a 41-mile run of the Croton Aqueduct next week if you'd like to join us.

Thanks for the offer. Im coming off of an injury ridden january, only put in 100 miles for the whole month, so I'm not ready for a 40 miler.
Good luck with Umstead, looking forward to following you through it cause im running my first 100 this summer. (Vermont).
