45 minutes of easy running (143bpm) with several 50m strides in the last mile. Dark and cool this morning, but it felt like someone cranked the humidity up again.

Liking the Brooks PureConnect more and more, but after reading Daniel N.'s shoe post yesterday, am looking forward to trying a pair of Skechers GOrun. Thanks Caleb M. for the suggestion.

Les likes the Sketchers. I'm skeptical about them because they really aren't made by a running shoe company. I like research about my feet and biometrics done. And clearly Meb could run in anything! Liked the feed tho from Daniel, lots of good ideas. Let us know how the new shoes work out. Oh and nice run!

Steve, I run in the PureCadence for my tempo/interval and races. I also picked up the Grit, but it doesn't do so well in sloppy (wet mud) conditions. Although the new Grit looks to have some promise.

45 easy minutes! I saw the Skechers on a commercial and wondered about them. Hmm.

Great early morning run! Bummed I missed you. I went a different route than around landstown common. I have been being creative doing multiple loops, etc. Be out there tomorrow...:)

Nice morning miles Steve. Yep, I like Sketchers, even as a heavier runner. Very flexable and grippy. I've even worn them at FLSP and they did well. They make me land mid-foot. And the more I run in them, the more I land mid-foot in my other shoes. They just feel funny to walk in cause they don't have a heal to land on.

Thanks, Les. Mine arrive tomorrow. Looking forward to testing them out on the weekend.

Nice choice! Sketchers might get a bad rap because of some previous missteps, but they really are going about things right in the running shoe dept. They do have a real R&D team that has a lot of running industry experience, and so far their shoes are both good quality and about 25% less expensive than the alternatives.

Great easy 45, Steve, especially after the hills yesterday. Thanks again for the encouragement about the 12 hour. You know, if nothing else, having little visions of possibilities is going to help along the way even when they don't come to fruition. I wouldn't have tested the legs like I have the past couple of weeks without the possibility of running it. I feel more ahead than behind now as a consequence.

Really solid again this morning Steve. Let me know how you do with the Brooksies .... I loved them, but kept getting pain in my heal after a run of 8-10 miles, ended up taking them back ... to bad as I loved everything about running in them.

Holy crap Steve! If that's an easy 45, what does a fast 45 look like?!?

Joe - I wasn't sure initially, but now run with a flatter insole than Brooks provided. The arch on their insole seems very high and felt quite uncomfortable in the first couple of outings. No issues now. Like the comfort/cushiness factor!

Well done, Steve, as usual! Knew Les had those and also hear talk about the Skechers Go Bionic that is out. Will be curious...

I do like my Brooks for half and full marys but they're the ST racers. Very interested in your continued testing!

I can vouch for the Skechers performance team, they are former Nike guys, and I've been working with them for 9 months or so on design. Great group with pretty much free reign to try anything they want. Some really solid stuff in the pipeline. Will be interested to hear what you think Steve!
