      IT Band? If so get a IT Band Strap. I had this one time. It was caused by running on the sides of roads. Roads are made with crowns for water to run off. When you run on the sides it puts strains on your knee. I going say it's your left knee if you run against traffic. If you run the same routes, change em' up. Good luck & I suggest getting a book called Lore of Running. Ever runner should have this book.

      Aw man! I know exactly how that feels. Ice ice baby! Stay well, and don't be afraid to engage the professionals (ortho, PT) sooner than later....I learned that lesson the hard way.
