...this was kind of a train-wreck and I'm only logging it to motivate myself in the future. the patches of snow, ice and muddy shale on the pathways really took the steam out of me and i almost rolled my ankle a few times on the uneven ground. by the time i got back on pavement i couldn't maintain my pace.
