So today's workout called for "time on my feet" and actually a 2:15-2:45 run. Well...based on yesterday's horrific weather I planned on a treadmill workout. I got an A+ for procrastinating and got to the gym in the late afternoon. Luckily just in time to watch the back nine of DORAL on tv! Yeahh! (For those of you who don't know, I was a golfer growing up and played in college and played Doral numerous times.) So this kept me nice and distracted. As did the indoor soccer match and then basketball game I watched in the gym.
I put the treadmill on 6.7 and an incline of 1 (easy peasy right?) and slugged it out. At mile 4 I stripped down to my sports bra (thankfully a very cute Lululemon one) and then the damn computer turned off. So I rebooted it for another 60 minutes. When that finished, I booted it up again and clocked another 25 minutes and called it quits. I think people thought I was totally insane. Oh well.
Overall my left calf felt fine. In the last 3 miles my right hip flexor started to get sore. I feel kind of guilty about skipping the last 15 minutes (or more) but frankly I had to get something to EAT and then get ready for swim practice!!!

Excellent run! anything over 30mins on a dreadmill is sheer mental torture - glad the tele kept you sane during the 2hrs! Wouldn't feel bad about 15mins, you did more than good! Hope the hip loosens out during the swim :)

I think this treadmill run was also an experiment to show myself that if necessary, I can actually run a longer distance on it. It really made me appreciate running in the park though! Thanks for the kudos, friends!

Way to log the miles...l've gotten to where I really don't mind up to about 2 hours on a treadmill if I have to, but I agree it sure makes you appreciate getting outside :-)

I think I'm feeling the after-effects of this run. My lower right leg is feeling some weird pain. Almost like I hyper-extended it or something. The discomfort is almost in the back of my knee. Hmm. I hope this goes away so I can be ready for Saturday's race!
