Evidently there was an earthquake while I was running this morning. I didn't notice it. That iPod really must block everything else out.

Little nippy out there this morning. I had to wear my balaclava which always makes me start my run thinking of Greek desserts.

good Sunday run 8 mi
Strong north wind, but it felt good to get out there. Wore my new Christmas tights, and they were excellent--I give them an eleven. Did NOT have to wear my spikes as most of the ice is gone. Love t... read more

Glad your ice is gone and you could get out for a run. Everything was cancelled here on Sunday, but the roads were pretty clear. Nathan and I went sledding on the hill in the meadow across from the house - along with about 30 other people. Mom and Dad got here about 4:30.

good Saturday long run 11 mi
Decided even if I'm not training for the marathon any more I can still post. Eleven gorgeous miles this morning. Great weather, beautiful trees, "Wait, Wait" and some Bon Jovi. Yeah,... read more

Nice long run - it's a beautiful morning here too. Yeah, I don't know about Bon Jovi - there's a little part of me that gets nostalgiac and enjoys that music, but most of me still doesn't. Were you screamin out "we're halfway there" at mile 5.5?

Hey Lori, great to see you back. Nice run this morning. Tim's reference brings back my own music memories. Gonna have to work hard to get rid of that visual of screaming Bon Jovi as I run, although living on a prayer is pretty accurate.

Thanks Pat and Tim. I can't say I was screaming along with Bon Jovi--I'm not sure Goshen is ready for that (we're not Jersey, after all). But I was singing along at the important parts.:)

Nice out this morning. Felt better than I did on Tuesday. No desire to throw up this morning.
-
that sounds like an improvement. You didn't happen to run into the guy on Graroy that chased John S. and I in his car (we were on bikes) when were were 11 because we rode by and were opening mailbox doors and told us, "if I see you doing that again, I'll take you straight down to jail" - did you?

Do people still call it a "fanny pack"? Not a bad long run for resting that heal.

I've thought about running with a small cooler--as opposed to those goofy running waterbottle belts. :) That won't make me look fit and smart though...

I think it would have been funny if you had been like Steven Katz - Bill Bryson's partner in A Walk in the Woods. As the books started getting heavy, you could just throw them one by one off into the bushes. Nice long run - I hope you continue to heal.

No run this morning.
Actually no running this week. Chris talked me into taking a week off to see if my Achilles will stop hurting. If it does then I think it will be fairly easy to pick my training back up. If it does... read more

Did you get beat up on the track from the gang of LADY walkers?

Oh definitely not. You know that I am the one beating people up at the track. Actually since we are running an hour earlier now b/c of school, there are no walkers. I think the soccer girls might actually be new PE teachers at local schools because they are coming an hour earlier too.

I didn't think they could take you down. But I was just checking to make sure. You seriously could kick any of those other butts on the track.
