I grew up a swimmer. Decided to do a triathlon in 2010 and completed the Couch to 5K program fall 09. Now I'm addicted to running! Interests: swimming, Running, Knitting, Triathlon, Travel, Photography

Taking a break from triathlons and focusing on running. Working on speed! Hoping for a faster 5K in the Spring, a sub 1:50 half in the Fall.

Official time 38:42. I am so surprised that I pulled this off! My super secret goal if I didn’t have hip issues was sub 8 min/mile pace. I was thrilled to see sub-40. Splits: 7:57, 7:51, 7:47, 7:56, 7:05 (0.91 miles according to Garmin). It seems like this race is always a tiny bit short. Makes up for the long hill at the end. ;)
I made it through, my hip bothered me for the first 2 miles and then it felt ok. Now it doesn’t, but at least it doesn’t seem worse. I plan on taking at least a week off from running and see how that goes. If all else fails I’ll see my doc and beg for an MRI.
