  1. RUN
    good 1 mi

    Shoes: Stem Origins

  2. RUN
    good 1 mi

Shoes: Stem Origins. My first time running on back-to-back days in well over a month. Hopefully this is the start of something good.

  3. RUN
    good 1 mi

Shoes: Stem Origins. I had a nice little run. I must remember this tomorrow morning when I'm telling myself it's not worth it to get out of bed and run.

  4. RUN
    alright 2 mi

Shoes: Stem Origins. It's amazing how hard it is to get back into a regular running routine once you slip.

  5. RUN
    blah 1 mi

Shoes: Stem Origins. 19 days since my last run. It's amazing how much conditioning I lost.

  6. RUN
    good 2 mi 00:36 18:00 pace

Shoes: Stem Origins. I take back what I said about these shoes initially. I really like them now and they are WARM. Probably too warm for spring/summer/fall, but great for winter.

  7. RUN
    good 2 mi

Shoes: Timberland Radler Camp Shoes. Nice run, but when I got home, I saw that I'd worn a hole in my favorite running socks.

  8. RUN
    alright 2 mi

Shoes: Stem Origins. Felt some weirdness around my right ankle. I'm not running the next two days, so hopefully the rest will resolve whatever it is.

  9. RUN
    alright 2 mi

Shoes: Stem Origins. I guess I like these shoes more than I thought because I keep running in them. They are quite warm, perfect for temps in the 20s (F). At the end of this run, I felt some strang... read more

  10. Woke up this morning and checked the weather. Said: "14F, feels like 3F." Decided to skip the run. I'll get 'em tomorrow when the temps are back up into the 20s.

  11. RUN
    good 2 mi 00:41 20:30 pace

Shoes: Stem Origins. Well, I said they might be good for lower temperatures, and today was lower temperatures. 29F actual temp, and told me if "felt like 21." So I put the Ste... read more

  12. RUN
    good 2 mi

Shoes: Stem Origins. First run in these, which I got from a friend. It was 38F, and these shoes were almost too warm. Might be good for lower temps. Other than that, I found the toebox adequate but... read more

Hey, you're back! I tried on some Stems a few days ago for casual wear, but I wanted the all grey pair, which doesn't come small enough for me. Boo. Welcome back to dailymile!

Thanks, Sarah! I thought I'd use dailymile again since it seemed like an easy way to keep track of my miles now that I've made it my goal for the year to put in 500.

I'm very lucky that I can wear a size 8 mens or a size 9.5-10 womens. That gives me all the color options! :)

  13. My left leg feels a little weird when I've tried to run a bit the last two days. All I can think is that it's because of my huaraches run on Thursday. Must fix Kuusas.

  14. RUN
good 2 mile trail loop 1.9 mi 00:35 18:11 pace

My feet are still pretty tender from yesterday, so I wore my huaraches today. It wasn't too hot, but it was HUMID.

  15. RUN
alright 2 mile trail loop 1.9 mi 00:41 21:48 pace

I had extra time this morning, and remembering my Kuusas rubbing the skin off my toe, I decided to tackle the trail barefoot again. Well, that's not the answer either. Going to switch to hua... read more

  16. RUN
good 2 mile trail loop 1.9 mi 00:34 17:53 pace

I ran barefoot for 1.4 of it and then slipped my Kuusas for the .6 that's on the trail. I think I've turned a corner because my only foot injury occurred with the shoes on. The inner so... read more

  17. RUN
    alright 4 mi 01:09 17:15 pace

I'm pretty comfortable with my 2 mile run, so I wanted to add half a mile to a mile to it. I went a way that I thought would do this, but it ended up being impossible to connect back, so I ha... read more

  18. RUN
good Campus run 1 mi 00:13:10 13:09 pace

These were my first time running barefoot two days in a row without any sort of protective tape on my feet. They sure are toughening up quickly. Had to do my short run due to time constraints. I... read more

  19. RUN
    2 mile trail run 1.9 mi 00:32 16:55 pace

I brought my Kuusas with me this time. My two mile "trail run" is actually my regular campus run with a half mile of single track trail thrown in at the farthest point. I ran barefoot to ... read more

Its not just the reduced ground-feel, it is the comforting protection of not having to worry about stuff cutting your foot or stuff going into it. I love my Kuusaa's EXCEPT they are too narrow in the toe-box, and had to get Osma's (unfortunately even thicker sole).

At minimal levels, every fraction of a milimetre makes a difference. I recently switched from Flows to Sprints for the summer and trails were hard/painful for the first week or so.

  20. RUN
alright 2 mile trail loop 1.9 mi 00:40 21:11 pace

Decided to try my trail run barefoot for the first time. I felt like I was doing a lot of walking as I was unable to run on several portions of the terrain - too rocky. I was sure my time would b... read more
