  1. RUN
    good Year-ending TM Time 6.76 mi 01:00 08:50 pace

A bit too chilly/breezy for me to run outside, so I stayed in. Slight ache on the inner-left lower leg, which is likely due to me not wearing my heel lift lately. Ended the year just shy of 1629 mi... read more

  2. RUN
alright Deceptive Run 3.1 mi 00:29 09:12 pace

Despite it being almost 50 degrees out (!!!), I was chilly most of this run as it seemed like the wind was against me 80% of the time. BUT! I wore shorts again! Definitely the last outdoor shorts r... read more

Ah, those damn winds!!! Do it every time. Well done :) Getting ready for New Years!

Saw this on Facebook... seems/feels pretty accurate! Time to run hard for a while.

  4. RUN
    good 7.21 mi 01:08 09:25 pace

46 degrees out with a decent but not crazy amount of wind, so I wore shorts. I got a tiny bit chilly going into the wind, but it felt good on my way back. Temp started going down fast once the sun ... read more

Glad the shoes are working well. What??!!!! Shorts!!!!! That is wild.....we would die here in shorts today :D Great run my friend :)

  5. RUN
good TM Run 7 mi 00:57 08:05 pace

Despite nice weather, had to use the TM in case I needed to return the new running shoes I was wearing. Pushed moderately hard, starting with an 8:58 mile and ending with a 7:22 mile. Shoes felt ve... read more

Ah! I love New Balance - they come with a wide toe box....great for the feet! I hope they worked for you. Oh, what kind of TM do you guys have....thinking of one.

    • Michael

Yes, wide toe box indeed! I also went up to a size 9 instead of my usual 8 1/2. TM - we don't have one, just an elliptical. We have a gym membership for the TM times. Buying machines like that for home makes me nervous because if they break they are a pain.

  6. RUN
alright Christmas Run 6.07 mi 00:56 09:17 pace

Ran out of energy a couple miles in, likely because I didn't eat beforehand. Windy out, but managed to beat the start of the rain.. by about 3 minutes.

  7. RUN
alright Longish Run 10 mi 01:33 09:18 pace

Casual run that was slightly painful at first, then not at all, then plenty towards the end.

  8. RUN
good Back Outside! 5 mi 00:44 08:44 pace

One nice thing about polar vortexes/arctic air *cough Patriciathankyou cough* is that when the temp gets into the low 40's it almost feels like summer!

    • Peneloperae

ha ha!!!! You're most welcome (he he). Now you can appreciate all your other winter runs! Looks like a nice one today :)

  9. VELO
    alright Expresso - Quicksilver 6.33 mi 00:25 15.3mph pace

Another brutal ride. Almost 3 minutes off my PR for this course, so I have work to do should I continue.

  10. RUN
    alright Warmup 2 mi 00:18 09:05 pace

Short warmup to cap an unintended short week of running.

  11. RUN
good Yep, another TM run 8 mi 01:10 08:45 pace

Super cold outside and I was not about to run in it. Thought I might do 11 but halfway through mile 8 I knew I was done since my legs were sore and I could feel the blister area on my little toe ac... read more

  12. RUN
    alright TM 6 mi 00:55 09:05 pace

Casual miles while trying to figure out why things still hurt.

    • Peneloperae

hmm, that is something to contemplate. I hope that resolves quickly....not pleasant.

  13. RUN
    blah Ugh 3.5 mi 00:32 09:10 pace

Almost quit at 1.5 but then hit 2 and decided I needed to try for 30 minutes. Hit 30 minutes and then kept going until I hit the nearest .5 increment. This run felt achy and sluggish and nothing ab... read more

  14. VELO
good Expresso - Falcon Flight 8.38 mi 00:33 15.4mph pace

Planned on running 2 as a warmup then riding the Expresso bike for a good workout as running long didn't sound fun today. However, all the TM's were full. By the time I finished this I ha... read more

  15. RUN
good Weekend Wrap 7.22 mi 01:00 08:18 pace

A few more TM miles while I avoided the grey, cold, and windy conditions outside.

  16. RUN
    good Cold 6.76 mi 00:59 08:44 pace

Cold and breezy out, so I put on a very unflattering base layer of under armour coldgear and then covered up with another layer or two. Felt good except when I ran into the wind and my face froze. ... read more

    • Peneloperae

Ah, you need a balaclava - I have one built into the hood of my run jacked. Ouch....cold wind in the face! Great getting that done :)

  17. RUN
good Fri TM Time 8 mi 01:07 08:25 pace

Progressive workout with a slower mile 8 to cool down. It's going to be a long winter as the TM is already getting old.

  18. RUN
alright Another TM Run 8 mi 01:09 08:39 pace

Ran 6.5 before the TM stopped. Took a small break then upped the speed thinking it would be easy to do 3.5 more. At 8 my body pretty much said "You are done." So that was that.

  19. RUN
    good TM 6.65 mi 01:00 09:01 pace

I normally avoid running in wind so with cold on top of that it was a no-brainer to run inside. New shoes haven't cured an ankle issue like I'd hoped.

  20. RUN
alright Snow Run 10.02 mi 01:31 09:03 pace

Light snow at the start. By the time I hit mile 6 I was very tired of being hit in the eye by snow as it got heavier and wetter. I suspect if I'd been wearing my HR strap that I would have see... read more

That's a long way in those conditions. Well done! I know that snow in the face feeling all to well - very uncomfortable!!!
