Ran at a nice, slow, steady pace. A.tendon did okay, but my legs were super tight from yesterday's power cleans, leg presses, etc.

alright Home — 3 miles 3.17 mi 00:25 07:50 pace
Achilles tendon discomfort was off and on, but never what I would call painful. I think I still need to get it checked out, so who knows any good sports medicine folks? I'd hate to pay a copay and ... read more

You did great... esp w/having tendon issues! I've been dealing w/tendon pain since just before the Pig. I was doing a LOT of incline on the TM when it started and it has just never stopped (and neither have I. lol). Hopefully yours is nothing serious!

same...my issues started relatively right before the Derby halfathon. I think I've narrowed it down to one of two things (or a combo of both): (A) changing shoes to ones designed for mid-to-forefoot striking, and (B) mowing the ridiculous incline in the back of my house. Seriously, it's so steep that I slip while trying to mow it.

AhHaa! I'll bet that's it, for sure! I had changed to a different type of shoes too, right before mine started. That's crazy about the steep incline! That's a great workout all in itself!

If you switched to a lower drop in your shoe, that could do it. That made my peroneal tendon angry. I see Dr. Nayak at Wellington and he's pretty good. I think he's a runner - I know his wife is, so he understands runners. Depending on what your insurance covers, Wellington can be PRICEY. If you have a copay and they're in network, though, it shouldn't be a biggie.

I just ran...no chronograph, no pushing myself. My legs still felt tight from my halfathon 6 days ago. Another run should work it out, though.

btw, I ran the first 10 miles at a 7:33 pace (1:15:30), so I obviously slowed down a LOT in the last 3.1 miles in order to drop the pace by 14 seconds overall (an average of 8:14/mile). That's the really disappointing part, not to mention my knees (both) are still killing me today. I predict it will go away by the end of the day...rephrase: I wishfully think it will go away by the end of the day.
