I just didn't have it today. My legs were tired and I felt kind of wiped. I knew early on that my PRs were safe today. I didn't have much time today as this is the day we drive up to Vermont. We love it up there so much, but it does take quite a slice out of Fridays and Sundays.
At any rate, so as to not get upset about a slower pace, I decided today would be a good day to stop and take a few pics along the way. There are several little spots that I ride by and think, I should stop and take a picture. Today was a good day to actually stop and take some pictures. This killed my pace, but it allowed me to start up again in a tough gear. I usually didn't plan my stops. I saw something I liked so I stopped as fast as I could. Many times, I found that I was in my biggest gear when I went to start up again. Good strategy.
The ride was good and very enjoyable. Not big miles. Not a big pace. But a really nice ride on a hot and humid day. I'll take enjoyable anytime!!
By the way, I managed to hit 44.1mph on one downhill today. Now that is fun!!
Have a wonderful weekend friends and good luck to those of you racing, etc.!!

There are always high and low days. Still, nice pace!

Fun ride, Scott!! :) I love that since I can no longer run, I actually look forward to taking pics (and checking out yard sales) things I would not have done in the past due to always trying to better my time. I am for sure noncompetitve, but love being outside and able to bike now. So glad you had a nice ride! Enjoy your weekend!! :) (still hoping you are wearing your seatbelt on those scary downhills!! lol )
