Jury Duty - I mentioned in a previous post that I have been selected for jury duty. This is not a jury trial but rather a Federal Grand Jury. The "term" lasts for 18 months!! And can be extended for an additional 12 months. As an alternate, I may not start my service for a month, or for several months. But I have been assured it will start. It's only one day a week, but still!!! I just served on a jury a few months ago, but state service does not excuse one from Federal service. Michael G., your suggestion of getting the stationary bike in there with me is a great idea. :-)

I can think of many things u could say so they leave you alone and stop choosing you! To pick you again so soon after u served is ridiculous! Yes bring the bike! Tell them u can't function without it. It may suggest you have some serious mental health issues when it comes to fitness...who knows they may let u go lol. My clients get out of it all the time with just a letter from me saying they r mentally unstable lol.

One of the good things about turning 70 is that I no longer HAVE to accept jury duty. I now have an option.

Scott, I think you if you show them some of your posts from DM they may excuse you.

Thanks for the great advice and suggestions!! @Anthony, I'm with you on this! @Jason, The Grand Jury does not deal in guilt/innocence. Instead, they either issue a supena or they don't. There is also an invastigative function, but I'm not sure how that works. More to learn I guess. :-) @Pantha, it is the luck of the draw, and I'm okay with that. Really. @Robert, I didn't realize that. @Kenny, why didn't I ask you BEFORE I had to go in for the selection process?!?! :-)

Holy Crap! Go with what Jason said and maybe scream out the mother ship is coming. May wear your bike gear backwards and make sure there is tin foil on your helmet.

@Tricia, I like the suggestion, but I'm not so sure. There was one woman who kind of freaked out while we were saying the oath. She had to go "back stage" and speak with the judge 1-on-1, but she's still there. We'll see how long she lasts I guess. :-)
