Only one more day on the trainer before I head back to Vermont to be reunited with my cycling shoes! :-) This workout wasn't quite as easy as it was supposed to be. I was tired before I even started. My legs felt like lead and my left quad was a bit tender. I also noticed my HR was higher than normal again, so I know I didn't really have it today. Sleep has been somewhat elusive the last few nights and I'm sure that had a lot to do with how I felt today. I had to force the pace today, which I know was a mistake. I should have been happy to take whatever came as this is a recovery week. I did a little extra stretching afterwards and feel better for having done it. I am optimistic that a good night's sleep or an ourdoor ride will address this little issue.

Nice ride Scott.

Scott - I enjoy your updates! Do make sure to get that sleep. I personally can vouch for the necessity of sleep.

Thanks Kenny! Saturday I'll be back on the road. We probably won't get to Vermont until tomorrow night so another indoor ride tomorrow morning. It could be a lot worse. :-)

Sorry you had a tough ride! Great work!!

Thanks Jen and Dalila!! @Dalila, it really wasn't that tough. I didn't mean to overstate it. When you are used to really good rides, anything less seems a disappointment. There was a time when this would have been a good one! :-) @Jen, You are already riding some big miles (70+). You could easily manage a century! Go for it. :-)

Nice "recovery" spin, Scott. I'm a lot like you, in that my recovery rides and easy spinning rides never end up being that way. (Then I pay for it later.) Oh, well. It is what it is, right? :) When you're reunited with your shoes, tell them "hello" for me.
