Sweat-Fest miles today for sure. Started off pushing a bit harder with increased resistance. With 45 minutes left in the ride, I increased the resistance a bit more. From that point on, it was just a matter of hanging on!! Tough stuff, but a really good workout on the trainer today.

Gotta love a good sweat fest! Greats work man!

Outstanding. It seems that your ability to handle the increased effort later in a ride is getting better. Prelude to an outstanding season I would imagine.

Thanks Rajesh, Jeremie, Richard and Kenny!! @Richard, I know this year I have to do a more consistent job of have easy rides and doing more intervals and hill sessions. I think I'm ready to do that though. Mentally, I also handle tough stretches best when I know it's only going to be for 45 minutes, or 1 mile or whatever. I know it's mostly mental. That's also why I liked the first mile to be my slowest mile in a running race with each subsequent mile getting a bit faster.

Nice miles Scott - and awesome mileage this week - I like that slow first mile strategy as well - then feed off the energy of others as you blaze pass on the following miles <sinister laugh> ;-)

Thanks Jeff!! There were several benefits to a slower start for me. It allowed me to relax and not get caught up in the initial excitement. It also allowed me to focus on my form and see how I was feeling that day. Finally, the mental aspect of passing people instead of being passed was fantastic!! Especially in a marathon!
