    Crisp, cool morning. Very good run considering how sore I am from strength training earlier in the week.

    Quick little jaunt on the 'mill. Looking to push the overall mileage up slowly, so I'm sprinkling in some short runs on my "off" days.

    First time out at the Health Club. Need to do some overall body strengthening so I can get serious about this Ultra thing. Good workout, more challenging than I expected.

      I joined Hendrick. I work at HSU, so the proximity is incredibly convenient. They offer quite a bit for the regular monthly rate and the people working there are tremendous. They also offer the art of strength (at a significant additional cost), but everything I've heard is that it is worth it. I might check it out once I feel confident that I'll consistently make good use of the club.

      yeah, that is nice and close. I live off of Buffalo Gap so it was just quite a schlep for me to get there. I was surprisingly impressed with the PS when I checked them out - kid-free pool, 24 hrs, and the classes. It's hard to find a good gym here...

    I'm awfully surprised at my overall pace today. The back half of today's run was nearly completely uphill and against wind gusts up to 40mph. Was that fun??

    One of the nice perks of staying at my in-laws is that I really enjoy this little 10 mile loop. Several small hills, lots of turns in the road, and nice scenery keep it interesting.

    Had to crank out a quick run before getting my protein fix on the mixed grill at Bonnell's in Fort Worth. Good run, good eats.

    Legs are still recovering from Saturday's Ultra, but not too bad. My thighs were fairly quick to remind me that I'm not fully recovered yet.

      Hey, thanks. We'll see how "freaky" I can get. I was very surprised at how strong I was toward the end, so I don't think this is it for me. I guess a 50 miler will have to be the next goal...to be continued.
