great Some call it fear, I call it intuition 00:45

Yoga practice today from the weekly free offering by Yogatoday with the gifted yogini Adi - Backbends to Energize the Spine. It was a nice, faster paced class. I had to stop at about minute 45 due to parenting/wifing duties this morning, but that was actually the right place for me. I don't love the full backbend feeling. Adi wondered if the folks at home had some fear about backbends - and some may call it fear, but I call it intuition. I'm just a little worried about my lower back/hip these days and I can feel that a full backbend does too much in that arena. But all the practice leading up to that point was really good and yes, energizing.

    Those pesky parenting duties getting in the way of your backbends. :P You're so good at listening to your body and not pushing it. :)

    Good job accepting what was right for you today, Anna! That is one of the major lessons of yoga, isn't it? Backbending always merits a degree of caution, especially if stress is felt in the lower back..

    What great comments above, Anna! You are an excellent yogi and know so well what is right for you. It has taken me a long time to feel comfortable and not fearful with trying back bends. As I gained knowledge about how to do them properly and how to protect myself, I've become less fearful and more intuitive.
