good 16 mile commute(600) 23.25 mi

Very nice early morning ride (16 mile commute with a few extras thown in). Up well before the sun in order to get some extra miles in before work. Left at 6am in order to compensate for the slower pace of the base mile challenge.
I always enjoy being on the road when the sun comes up.

I put the slicks back on my MTB - as that is what I am riding until April. The sound of slicks - versus knobbies - is near silence; just a soft hum f wheels on the road. And, being out that early, there were no dogs or roosters even out of bed yet, so I rode in the dark and near-total silence for the first hour. And then was treated to a most spectacular light show as the sun began peeking through the morning mist.

Oh, for a camera that took good low-light pictures.
