Really dreading my long run tomorrow. I'm nervous its going to be tooo hot, and humid and I won't be able to run my 7 tomorrow. Heading out to OGLP around 530ish to be there by 6-615. two of my fuel belt water bottles will be with Nuun and the other two water. I like the idea someone had of bringing a small cooler with more water in it... any other tips on running in the heat? I'm nervous!


if you are starting that early you should be fine, it will be warm so don't run to fast. We ran this morning for our long run and ran about a 45 seconds slower per mile than I normally do. make sure you hydrate tonight!! it is hard when you first get out there but I guess you could say you get used to it. you got this girl!!

That's good advice from Stephanie--hydrate today (according to Jeff Galloway, you're properly hydrated when you have to "go" every two hours or so)--just carry a bottle of water with you, and fill it up whenever you empty it. Galloway also recommends drinking water until you can hear it "slosh" in your stomach, and then take one or two sips every 15 minutes while you're working out. Most important, take it slow. It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow, so you should be ok. Good luck!

I think I drank during my run about 1liter of water, over 2.5 hours. mostly cause i sweat so much. you will learn over time what works for you. just takes practice! please keep me posted, i want to know how you did!

the best tip is to slow down! don't expect to run as fast as you can when it's cooler and definitely don't try to. you can do it!
