a friend of mine took this gem of a photo...he was hiding not far from the finish line, poised to snap the most unflattering shots possible. Mission accomplished, Lester...you done good.

great Caminata Contra el Cáncer 3.1 mi 00:35 11:17 pace

My first race in another country! Hopefully the first of many. Also my first 5K, interestingly. My roommate and I stuck together and had fun. Also I exceeded my goal...I underestimated myself b... read more

blah La Sabana 3.5 mi 00:45 12:51 pace

A 5K and then some with my running friends. I'm glad I did it, but it sucked. Running at high noon when you're this close to the equator (and this white) doesn't feel very nice. N... read more

  5. RUN
    tired 2.5 mi 00:30 12:00 pace

Quick early-morning run with my roommate. Neither of us were feeling it today, we both felt really heavy and tired. But we got it done.

  6. RUN
    alright I'm back! 3.3 mi 00:45 13:38 pace

I'm determined to get back to running now that I've acclimated to living here.

    great 02:30

Not actually a workout, but I'm counting it. We shovelled and hauled 5-gallon buckets full of dirt and rocks out of the street, through a woman's house, and out to the river to build a re... read more

I didn't want to do this. But it's National Running Day, and I'd have felt doubly guilty for not running :P

Yeah, we actually only did a little bit of legit hiking on the trail...the trail runs along a river full of huge boulders, so we always just make our way up the river instead of the trail. We call it bouldering, but it's not really that...more like 'hiking creatively' :D

    great 3 mi 00:40 13:20 pace

How is it that when I ran yesterday it was 80 degrees and intensely sunny, and today it's 50 and raining?

I think that's more for marathons and I have heard different things. I honestly didn't notice differences when I did my long runs and ate differently, but who knows, maybe the differences are subtle.
