  1. RUN
great Poison Oak / Pea Ridge 3.51 mi 00:36 10:16 pace

Much cooler running before dawn. A little spooky on the back roads. Kept expecting to step on a snake in the dark.

  2. RUN
    great 3.51 mi 00:33 09:30 pace

What a great morning for a run! Cool (for around here at 72F) and a nice breeze.

  3. RUN
alright Heritage Park out & back. 9.01 mi 01:38 10:54 pace

This was one of those days. I hoped to put in some big miles but felt kind of blah so I cut it short. I did see a pair of foxes while I was out there. Probably a momma and her kit. That made the ru... read more

  4. RUN
great Pea Ridge / Poison Oak 3.4 mi 00:34 09:58 pace

So much nicer running at dawn! I don't even have to wear a hat to protect my bald head from the sun. Cooler all the way around.

I had been running in the evenings so my daughter could run with me. Since school's out next week, we can run in the mornings. Big difference between running in 90F+ temps and temps in the mid 70's.

  5. RUN
good Neighborhood, Pea Ridge / Poi... 4.33 mi 00:47 10:52 pace

I'm so glad I am switching over to running in the morning after this one. It was 90F+ with a blazing sun. The temps almost took the fun out of it. However, I did get the first mile in with my daugh... read more

  6. RUN
    alright Neighborhood 4.37 mi 00:47 10:50 pace

I took it slow because it was a bit toasty out there at 90F. I got the first mile in with Awesome Abby, then I slogged through the rest solo. I'm going to switch my mid-week runs to the mornings la... read more

  7. RUN
great Heritage Park Out & Back, Poi... 13.17 mi 02:20 10:36 pace

I love the half marathon distance! Cloudy and breezy made for a pleasant run. I need to find time to do this more often, long runs once a week just aren't enough.

  8. RUN
great Pea Ridge / Poison Oak, Neigh... 4.36 mi 00:47 10:42 pace

I did it backwards today. Instead of running with my daughter first and then finishing out my miles solo, I did the opposite and finished my run by running the last mile with Awesome Abby. With the... read more

  9. RUN
good Neighborhood, Pea Ridge / Poi... 4.36 mi 00:46 10:26 pace

Cloudy and cool made for a really pleasant run. Got the first mile in with my daughter, then the rest solo.

  10. RUN
    great Neighborhood 1 mi 00:10:25 10:23 pace

A great, short run with Awesome Abby after I knocked out my own run.

  11. RUN
great Pea Ridge / Poison Oak 3.41 mi 00:34 09:57 pace

This will be my last officially listed run with my trusty Garmin. After seven years it appears to have given up the ghost. After hundreds of run and thousands of miles I guess it's time. I guess I'... read more

  12. RUN
great Pea Ridge / Poison Oak 3.4 mi 00:33 09:43 pace

Why is it that running in Vibram Five Fingers just feels faster than my slightly more normal Nike Free Runs?

  13. RUN
great Poison Oak / Pea Ridge 3.4 mi 00:33 09:35 pace

Slightly cooler temps made it easier to pick up the pace a bit.

  14. RUN
    good Neighborhood 3.5 mi 00:35 10:04 pace

Hurried home and got straight out there to beat the rain (I did). Got a mile in with Awesome Abby then did the rest solo. It's supposed to rain tomorrow so I think it's going to be an easy week, li... read more

  15. RUN
great Heritage Park Out & Back 10.25 mi 01:48 10:34 pace

The clouds broke in time for me to catch a beautiful sunrise. I can't think of a better way to start the weekend than with a long run at sunrise.

Scott, sometimes I feel like a real wimp when I am running...the longest I've run is 37 minutes, but I plan to keep pushing and see what my body is capable of doing.

Slow little increases. Don't increase your mileage more than 10% a week. You have to give your body time to adjust. Also, not every run should be long. Mix 'em up. If you run long on Saturday, Friday should be easy or no run at all.

  16. RUN
good Neighborhood, Pea Ridge / Poi... 5 mi 00:55 10:59 pace

Five miles in 88F heat. I earned my post run beer! Got 1.5 miles in with Awesome Abby, then finished it out solo. The heat is really affecting my pace.

  17. RUN
good Poison Oak / Pea Ridge 3.4 mi 00:36 10:40 pace

It's not going to be long and I'm going to have to switch my mid-week runs to the mornings. I took it slow and easy as it was a bit warm out.

Since I've been running with my daughter, I've been running in the evenings. Once school's out for the summer, we're going to run in the mornings. Even the mid 80's seem to make running much more difficult. Hope TT feels better!

  18. RUN
great Neighborhood, Pea Ridge / Poi... 5 mi 00:53 10:40 pace

I got to run 1.5 miles with my daughter, Awesome Abby. She's a peach! Then I did the rest solo. A decent breeze made the temps tolerable.

  19. RUN
great Heritage Park Out & Back 9 mi 01:33 10:21 pace

It's nice to be back in the groove!

  20. RUN
alright Pea Ridge / Poison Oak 3.45 mi 00:37 10:42 pace

Guess I should have had a lighter supper. That and the heat (88F) conspired to make for a less than optimal run. At least there was a stiff breeze.
