Worst run ever 3.1 mi 00:36 11:40 pace
WARNING: lots of pessimism in this post. WORST RUN EVER. Today was the first time I felt a little angry while running. I decided to venture out to the main roads, where there are 3 lanes each direc... read more

Oh no - sorry it was so bad! (But you got some miles in, right?) And you learned something about your running self: no main roads for you. Although I've never run in "the city," I can see how it would be very interesting and enjoyable. Here in smalltown, USA, there's just houses and more houses, and people staring out their car windows thinking, "Hey, I think I know that lady from ____." Always nice when I'm doubled over sucking wind! Don't let the pessimism stick around too long. Tomorrow is another day!

You're right. As they say, a bad run is better than even a good day at work! :)

alright Lake Needy 3.06 mi 00:30 09:53 pace
Great run w/ a friend. However, left lower leg started to hurt towards the end. Shoot! And it wasn't on the treadmill. I'm icing this crap tonight. REST day tomorrow. Then Thursday is cross training.

The more I run, the harder it is to get up in the morning. I run in the evenings because I am not a morning person anyways. Perhaps now that I run on a consistent basis, I need more sleep than I u... read more

Honestly I am not a morning person either and I hate when the alarm goes off at 5:00 am BUT running the morning makes you feel so much better the rest of the day. There's nothing like watching the sun rise while you are taking care of yourself. I find it's easier to talk myself out of running at the end of a hard day at work.

I know it's different for everybody. For me, I find a lot of things get in the way if I wait until the evening to get my run in. I like to do it in the morning and be done with it. Then when people say, "I'm not awake yet," at, say, 7 a.m. or something like that, I can say (to myself- I'm not rude!), "I already ran (X number of) miles today!" My days seem to be more productive when I run in the mornings, although it is harder to get up! But do what works for you!

good Round the Hood 2.21 mi 00:22 09:54 pace
Ok you all, it is HELLA hot out there. I'm all for summer, but whew. A storm looks like it's coming in, and I was hoping that it'd start pouring on me to feel good, but no such luck.

Question for runners: What do you do/use to track miles in your run? Example: Garmin watch, driving the certain distance and seeing miles on ur car odometer, etc....???

Sazzy there is also a website you can go to www.walkjogrun.net that you can use to map out your routes - it will also calculate your distance, calories burned, etc.., it is the one I use and I love it and it won't cost you any money :))

I use a tech4o pink watch, it doesn't use gps so I have to enter my stride into it but it keeps track of cals, distance, my workouts up to 4 weeks worth, alarm, steps, etc. Its okay but I would so love a Garmin but until I can get one I will be using my tech4o watch
