SIgned up for the 2,015 in 2015. I'll have to start slow with walking since it's been ages since I've ran. Hoping this will help me get my mojo back & miles in.

Well this was an interesting run. First, I hate races that have relay's - it's so deflating when you're following someone and trying to keep with them and then suddenly they drop out because they've ran their portion and now Mr. Speedy takes off and you're left in the dust.

Okay - good, I've said that. Otherwise this was a pretty good LR for me. And a PR since I've never ran this distance before. :) hahaha

First 6 miles were phenomenal - finished those in 1:01 - which is insane in my world. The next 5 were painful - I don't know if I got in my head too much or what, but I struggled with those. The last 4 were better - my pace improved and I wasn't feeling as awful as I was in the middle.

A couple things - I was really glad I had trained on gravel because the 2+ miles of gravel sucked or would have otherwise. Those were toward the beginning of the run (miles 3-5? or so?) so that helped. My half marathon time was 2:29 which was awesome and I think helped me redeem myself for the last couple miles. I also didn't come in last, though I thought I was close a few times.

Anyway, glad I ran it. Really glad I have the Garmin since the course was a bit longer than they said. And really glad to have my personal trainer with me. Mike was a lifesaver. Of course we forgot the camera - so no photographic evidence. :( Oh well.
