I bought some Vibram FiveFinger shoes with the hope that I could run again despite years of knee pain. I set out this morning with my iPhone and Couch to 5K app loaded.
I was heading out into an unknown area, but I found a sweet open road in back country Texas and as soon as I heard the little man in my iPhone say "RUN"...I felt my heart soar! I didn't run fast. I didn't run long, but I was running. And I made it until minute 21 without even a twinge of pain. In fact, my hips hurt worse than my knees (from having babies?). I was rather annoyed with my legs and butt being so itchy as my cellulite jiggled around. Super fun. Here's to making that go away!
I felt absolutely euphoric by the end...totally high on life. There will be more of this in my future.
P.S. I have no idea how to log C25K on here...I really don't know the distance I went and I didn't run the whole time. So, I will pretend that I know. ha.
