Stretching... when I don't have any owies, I just stretch when I'm done my run. If I do have something that's bugging me, I stretch it all day long as much as possible. Keep stretching your calves/achilles.
The first, most important/obvious thing is the shoes... you have to make sure you have the right shoes on. Go to a running store and get them to make sure you don't pronate or anything. Verrrry important.

Sara, have you had your gait checked out? And your feet/arches etc? The right or wrong shoe can make or break you. Literally.

Hello Sara,Suzy's right...wrong shoes can be the problem (i do not know about fivefingers though). Also, did you ice and put some anti inflamm. cream on it?Maybe wearing an ankle support..it helped me.Be careful...I started running again after a long period of "only yoga" and did not care enough about proper before/after stretching, icing, and when i started feeling some pain,i just kept going. So i ended up with pubalgia and had to stop running for months.Be careful and do not over do ;) wish you luck :)

This scares me. I thought the Vibrams were supposed to self correct the way we run? Or am I mistaken? Guess I'll need to learn how to run correctly and in good form, first, huh? Did you finish Born to Run yet? How did you like it?
