good Bopdev Ghat -Khed Shivapur 64 km 03:50 10.4mph pace

With Aba,Manoj,Nitin,Deven & Mandar Very tough ride due to strong head winds & cross winds.
Two flats on Aba's bike & broken derailleur on Nitin's Schwin Sportera Sport slowed us down.
Nitin returned from Bopdev top in a pick up van .
This is the second case of derailleur breakage I have come across .Deven was also facing shifter problems on his new Schwin Sportera Sport.
I think it's a manufacturing defect

    Excellent group ride ...in very tough conditions...Heartiest congratulations to all the riders...I think the Old models i.e. 2011 model of Schwinn is excellent...the bike I am using for the last 2 years is just fine...and even Dr. Doshi who has got the same bike is also extremely satisfied with it...

    Thanks Prashant & Doc.... Yes both of you are riding Schwinn's without troble But these two guys sports faced problems with the derailleurs . And Doc you are always welcome to ride with us ....

    Sir,

    RDs break sometimes because of being bent and then being pushed hard uphill. This would not have broken on flat road, right?

    Thanks Hitanshu, you have correctly pointed this out... Yes,the RD broke at the top of the climb But in the previous incidence it broke on a flat.

    My Orbea road bike RD did break while i was climbing the Chandani chowk. But then i remembered that my bike had fallen on that side some 15 days back and that was the time its aluminum part got damaged. So to my mind some physical damage is necessary for the RD to break. it can not break on its own.
