The weather gods were smiling on me today! The temp dropped 8* and wind picked up so it was actually a pleasant run (except for the humidity) and I was able to get home before the rain came pouring... read more

Hilton Head 3.32 mi 00:40 11:53 pace

Oh! And the paved trails I ran on to get to the marsh had a dog park! I love dogs and loved seeing the happy, playful dogs enjoying vacation with their owners! <3

RUN
good Harbison 2.5 mi 00:27 10:46 pace
Short hill run before it got too hot. Lately I've noticed that people aren't that friendly when they're out on runs or walks. I try to smile and wave, or at least make eye contact an... read more

Its funny u say that! I wave to everyone and wondered the same thing. Am I not supposed to wave and be friendly? I think the cyclists are the worst for this. Of the 20 or so cyclists I passed on my long run last weekend I got a nod from two of them, and only cause I waved first!

Easy squats, but that plank, wowza! I have no idea how I will up it to 1:45 tomorrow. By the 1 minute mark, I am hot and starting to sweat already. Amazing how a simple pose really kicks your ass!!

RUN
great Riverwalk 5 mi 00:53 10:35 pace
Started raining around mile 1.5; a nice, fine, misty rain which felt fantastic.
Best thing about today's run - no calf pain!
Worst thing about today's run - spitting on myself. (facepalm)-
Oh - I also did most of my run on the gravel/dirt beside the paved trail. Wow, what a difference that makes on the knees!!

My right calf is sore after yesterday's run. No clue what I did to it, but obviously strained/tweaked it somehow. How long do y'all rest when a muscle is hurting?? This seems very minor, ... read more

if it's hurting, then I'll rest one day (but might do other workouts) but if it's only sore, then I'll run through it. Then again, I'm not good with taking rest when I should and I'm quite young so I might get away with it. Aches and pain happen when you increase distance - i think it's normal :)
