    Warmed up by walking a mile and a half, then ran, limped etc. then cooled down by walking another mile.

      At age 34 to 50 - I was doing some long stuff. At around age 40 my best distance was 50 miles. At almost 68 I can still enjoy half marathons, and-- probably could still do a 50 k , but why ? In 2005 a bicycle crash ended my long career of sports. I was finished and ok with that. Broken hip and happy knowing it was over. -- 45 days after surgery I did a triathlon still limping badly. I finished 62 of 64 people. 14 weeks post surgery I was back to normal. Never let an injury discourage you. I never did.

      Sounds like you proved everything to yourself and are now wise enough to sit back and enjoy the run. I did my first half in March...before that my longest run was 6.5 miles and I was really set on a marathon this October but this morning I made the decision to scrub it. I need to let this injury settle down....so I'll be swimming, hitting the weights and cycling for the next couple weeks in hopes that I can do the Jacksonville Marathon in December.

    Hot n humid...heading to the chiropractor today...muscle pain is better but nerve pain is still there...but I wasn't limping!! Still...any day out for a run is better than one on the couch!

      Had a really bad day there today (Saturday) Was going to do 12, changed the goal to 10 halfway through, and ended up crashing between 6 and 7. Threw in the towel at that point.

      Thanks Laura...I'm going to repeat that the next time I decide to go for another outing when I'm already achy.
      Michael...today was awful, I don't blame you. I had delusions of grandeur but bagged it at 2.5 and turned around and headed back for just 5.

      I spent an hour in cold water after I grabbed some food....2 cups of coffee to keep me warm. Feeling pretty good now.

    Hot, humid...hip still bugging me...thought I was doing myself a favor by running on the soft treadmill...not so much. 80 and 85% humidity...

    7 am run - 78 degrees and 92% humidity...limped back in...ice bath...Aleve...almost starting to feel better...nap time! Tomorrow is cross and Monday rest...no running for two days...time to heal.
