Steph so i'm trying to figu...
Dailymile makes it easy to keep track of your workouts. Map your routes and share with a community of active people.
So I'm trying to figure out what my goal pace should be for the half in April, so I decided to look up all my races from the last year. I was pleasantly surprised to see that less than a year ago I did a 10k at a 9:41 pace. If you had told me that this year I'd be busting out a 7:38/m over 4m I would've laughed in your face! It struck me how amazing the human body is and how grateful I am to have to luxury of time to have running as a part of my life. Ok, dry your eyes, I still don't know what my goal pace should be! Any ideas?

6 minute miles. There I said it. :O) Seriously, how about 8 min miles? Ok, not sure. But your going to kick the half's ass!!!

What was your best HM pace last year?

Awesome link, Sam! It put me at 8:21 miles which sounds reasonable. Last year I think I was training for 9:00 miles, but my fitness has changed. (got sick before the race so never actually saw a "real" time)

Definitely does sound do-able! I've heard from a lot of people that it's pretty accurate. I'm going to use that to give me an idea for the Brooklyn Half this year.

I'm going to say... 1:45-1:50, based on your recent 4-mile race. Congrats on your terrific progress this year!

The running calculators (runners world has one too) are a good point of reference but far from exact since your training is more attuned for a particular distance. So if your training is more 5k/10k, then your 4-mile race pace will probably be better (according to the calculator) than your half pace. If you're putting in a lot of pure mileage, you may be able to do better than what it says. But 8:20-8:30 sounds like a good goal. Good luck!
