  6. Runkeeper app run 5 mi / 00:45 09:00 pace

As an alternative to getting a Garmin I downloaded the Runkeeper app and ran with my iphone. It worked pretty well and the website it links to gave me splits, an elevation graph, a map, and more stats. Pretty handy!

The running calculators (runners world has one too) are a good point of reference but far from exact since your training is more attuned for a particular distance. So if your training is more 5k/10k, then your 4-mile race pace will probably be better (according to the calculator) than your half pace. If you're putting in a lot of pure mileage, you may be able to do better than what it says. But 8:20-8:30 sounds like a good goal. Good luck!

Training for the More Half officially starts today! Warmup and speed intervals. I think I'm still a bit tired from Sunday's race effort..this kicked my butt!
