  1. I have too many places I'm keeping my training log. DM loses out. If you want to find me, I'm rwhillrunner at Garmin Connect and I'll start commenting on my runs there.

  2. RUN
good Another day... 9.11 mi 01:08 07:25 pace

Another day just plugging away. Nothing special, just getting the grunt work done.

  3. RUN
alright Solid end to a solid week 9.01 mi 01:11 07:55 pace

The pace wasn't pretty but felt decent actually. Just plugging away. Really, a nice finish to a very solid week. 68 mile week with a 15 mile long run before Christmas? This is how you set up f... read more

For Dan B. The 225 in time of day mode. Note 1: yes, my wrist is really small and apparently pretty hairy. Note 2: it's easy to hit 20,000 steps by lunch with a 15 mile morning run in the bag.

For Dan B. The 225 in run mode. Was loading my run via phone at the time, hence the arrow icons on top. This is my second screen. Primary screen is full screen distance.

I just got the 220.. And love it! The Bluetooth feature is so convenient!

Was debating the 220 but, for $40 more, decided to try the extra features of the 225. Bluetooth is nice, as are some of the other features. I can't remember, did the 220 have activity and sleep tracking? Might not be worth $40 itself but pretty interesting.

I like how big the read outs are, I am 50 and cant see small stuff anymore without my readers.

It is petty easy to read, especially if you have a single display like I do with my primary screen (distance only).

  6. RUN
good 15 in the bag 15.04 mi 01:59 07:53 pace

Longest run up to now was 12 miles so the main goal was just to finish 15 in one piece. Kind of figured I'd settle into about 8 minute pace and ride it out, then hope I wouldn't fall apar... read more

Nice! I have a couple 14-16 milers planned coming up. Not sure if 16 is needed training for a HM. I just decided last week I wanted to do one.

Needed? I'd say no. Beneficial? Heck yes. I'd call 16 miles that kind of distance for the half.

  7. RUN
good First 8 miler this week 8.05 mi 01:01 07:35 pace

I have some catching up to do. Garmin was messing with me seriously. For some reason, I'm giving Garmin another chance and I bought a Forerunner 225. Pretty cool watch, I hope I still feel tha... read more

  8. RUN
alright Holding strong 9.08 mi 01:06 07:17 pace

Feeling a bit rough but holding strong. Things are going well this week.

  9. RUN
alright Hanging in there 9.13 mi 01:08 07:25 pace

First run with the new Forerunner 225. Nice watch. Not totally sure the wrist based HRM is all that accurate but it's not far enough off to say for sure it's wrong. Backing off, not feeli... read more

  10. RUN
    good Strong 9.07 mi 01:05 07:11 pace

Nice run. Was expecting to feel a little roughed up but hanging strong.

  11. RUN
good Good start 9.04 mi 01:06 07:18 pace

Very good start to a new training cycle. Felt good and went with it.

  12. RUN
alright Back to the Bugline 6 mi

The Bugline and my legs were similar today. Passable but not great. Good day for a nice, relaxed, watchless run. Had to go watchless because I managed to kill the hard drive in my computer this mor... read more

  13. RUN
good Another good run 7.09 mi 00:55 07:43 pace

Definitely more snow to the south. Roads are mostly clear, though, and it was warm enough that the remaining snow and ice on the roads is gradually melting. Another run like the weekend. Strong but... read more

No big deal. It should be gone within a few days. I'm not sure how long the up to 17 inches in the north suburbs of Chicago will take to melt but, around here, it was not nearly like that.

  14. RUN
good The cold following the storm 7.07 mi 00:54 07:36 pace

Waited out the bitter morning cold and managed to wait until it was up to the 20s. Still pretty bitter for November but bearable. Another strong run, though. Was wondering about 2 miles in why ther... read more

  15. RUN
good Welcome to winter 6.04 mi 00:48 07:59 pace

This year, winter isn't messing around to get started. Couldn't even see any ground, much less get my feet on any. About 2 inches on the pavement, 4-5 on the grass, at run time and still ... read more

    good Pre-snow 7.07 mi 00:52 07:17 pace

Forgot to charge the Garmin, could have charged it on wind power out there today. Wow. Felt good enough that, given the forecast for tomorrow and Saturday, I decided to take advantage and go for 7 ... read more

  19. RUN
    alright Eh... 6.05 mi 00:47 07:43 pace

Felt good enough to not screw around with 5 miles but not good enough to venture beyond 6. That pretty much sums up everything about this run. Foot was a little sore, didn't like that, but we&... read more
