I ran this in my VFFs in a forefoot-landing gait. It was the first time I'd done this in...months. My calves totally gave out halfway through so it turned into a midfoot sand shuffle; hence the uberslow pace. I'm probably going to regret this in 24-48 hours. But it AMAZING! So beautiful. Then I collapsed on the beach at the end since I wore my bathing suit under my running gear (another questionably comfortable choice).
