Just got back from a two week cruise. Does lifting a fork to my mouth several times a day count as a workout???

Thanks! I did cross-check it with my emails but can't seem to find the person that "didn't" get accepted :-( As far as an app, not sure if there is one, other than just the "mobile" version of the site, but I will have a look.

Jaydub, it was truly amazing. Slow going (very slow) at times because some parts were straight up! Coming down was a whole different story...so nice to finally get to use a different muscle group, but the scree was so slippery, it was quite scary at times. Poles next time for sure!

great Moose Mountain Trail Race 29 km 03:58 13:12 pace
Unofficial time. Elevation gain of 3000 ft. At the top we were just under 8000 ft. above sea level. The climb to the top was straight up at times (could have used my hands in some places!) Felt... read more

Thank-you everyone! I absolutely had the time of my life. Pics not that clear...I just held out my Blackberry and clicked as I ran so I wasn't sure how they would turn out.

blah 13 km 01:20 09:57 pace
Haven't got on DM this week until now. I usually post a workout immediately after I finish, but this past week has been so busy. So, I am catching up now. Not that there is much to catch up... read more

I hear you on the whole training bit. I am just training for a half and the miles are great for one thing, but the whole "Training" concept really gets to you. A part of me can not wait until after the race to just run for the pure enjoyment of it. Hit the Trails. Best wishes. How did the race go?

Hi Kenley,
Thanks for the note. You are so right- I can't wait to run for "fun" again. I survived the marathon but I am not very pleased with my time at all, which is exactly why I have not posted here. I have just been in "mourning" over the entire race. Hopefully I will get everything all updated tomorrow, but suffice it to say, I did not make my time goal...hopefully will write about it in my blog tomorrow. My quads are still hurtin' really badly...but hey, the medal is very purdy!

I read your blog, I think you did GREAT!!! Congrats!
I agree, sometimes I/we get so obsessed with pace/time/distance we forget to have fun. You finished a marathon in awesome time, I hope you feel proud (sometime soon anyway).over 2 years ago • Like

RUN
good 23 km 02:24 10:05 pace
Overall a good run. Saw bear scat on our usual path. I kept thinking it was going to jump out of the bushes at us along the way. I really wanted to see it...just not up close.

I am laughing at Kenley looking up scat in the urban dictionary. LOL! Great run!!
Oh, and Nicolle, here in the states the Greek yogurt is right near or mixed in with the other yogurt. Sometimes it is also in an organic area in the grocery.

Sorry I haven't replied on here this week everyone! Thanks for the encouragement Erica, Alex, Kenley and Nicki. I spent way too much time this past week on the computer trying to figure out how to get my blog up and running, that my DM got neglected. I'm not the best with computers...

good Bowness to downtown and back... 32.09 km 03:28 10:25 pace
Very humid but not too hot this morning. I thought I would feel better after this run but muscles feel pretty sore. Driving on the way home I had cramps in my hamstrings AND quads. Not so nice. ... read more

Thanks everyone!!! John M. & Nicki- I take Carb Boom electrolyte drink and their gel as well. I found Gatorade always gave me such bad heartburn! I drink lots when I run so I don't know if it is lack of electrolytes-probably just lack of fitness!!

Did eight Yassos this morning. 3:57, 3:59, 3:54, 4:12, 3:56, 3:59, 4:01, 3:55. I'm pretty sure I briefly lost a satellite signal on that fourth interval. So nice to get these done early in ... read more

Mark C.- two more weeks of Yassos. This Sunday is our last really long LSD...32km on Sunday, then it goes down to 23km, then 16km, then marathon. We'll have to see if I can do 10 Yassos two weeks from now. That would be so great if it is accurate!

Duane D.- Yasso 800s, named for Bart Yasso. Google it and you can see how they are to be done properly. It is supposed to be a pretty good indicator of your predicted marathon time (in ideal circumstances, of course) but they must be done properly, and in conjunction with good overall marathon training to be accurate.
