No, not even close Stacy. It was a stationary bike at the gym. It was the equivalent of about a two mile run, if that. I'm curious to see how much stamina I lost once I can run again. You are doing well!

Yeah, I had an Achillies' tendon issue a few years back. (I can't believe it's already been that long), but I'm back at it. Are you training for an upcoming race?

great Jordan River Parkway 20 mi 01:40 05:00 pace

I did this on Saturday. It went very well. I compare it to about a 2-3 mile run by how I felt. I think my achilles is about healed, but will still give it more time.

    • Alan
      Alan

Yeah, I figured I would wait a week or two after I feel no swelling and then only go a mile or so. I'll ease my way into it. Your training is still going well it seems. When is the relay? September?

      Thanks for the motivation!

The relay is in September. My training was going good, but the past week has been hard. I hope to get back on schedule tomorrow.

I'm glad you're feeling better, but I think it will be wise to make sure it is healed so you don't re-injure it.

Thanks Stacy. I'll be fine. After a few days I should be good to go. I am not sure when this happened??

Maybe you just need some rest, don't over do it and make it worse.

Nice job, how long do you sprint? Isn't your gym air conditioned?

It is, but it is still quite warm for me. There isn't much ventilation outside of a few fans. I did one mile at 7:24, and it ruined the rest of my run. I then did 1-3 minute sprints after that. Totaling about 2 miles of sprints.

It drops 3500 feet and starts at 5:30, buses leave at 3:15 amd 3:45. brutal! Google Deseret News Marathon and you can find a map. I am not sure I can do it after basically taking a nap!

It's a huge gym for one (hard to keep cool) and only a handful of tm's have fans overhead. I need a TV in front of my tm to keep from being too bored and most of them have some sort of issue with the volume, remote, etc. So I didn't have much ventilation. I could go for 50 on a tm for sure! Am I the king of babble or what? One day I'll be better at giving a reader's digest version...:)
