  1. RUN
    long run 13 mi 01:47 08:13 pace

Finally got to do a long run in something under 85 degrees...it was awesome! Took it nice and easy and it felt good.

  2. RUN
run to work 4.58 mi 00:36 07:52 pace

First run to the new job! Can't wait until it's cooler so I can do this more often. I desperately need to get more miles on my feet.

  3. RUN
    brick run 1.96 mi 00:14:14 07:15 pace

Very short little run after bike home from work. Pretty hot out.

  4. VELO
ride to work 4.82 mi 00:19 14.9mph pace

First bike to the new job! It's shorter, which is nice for time, but not too much of a workout.

  5. RUN
    intervals (3x1mi) 5.56 mi 00:38 06:49 pace

Not happy at all with my inability to maintain a 5:45 for all three of these. Feeling very frustrated at how much fitness I've lost this year, particularly this summer. But that's why I&#... read more

If you ask me thats pretty salty for taking a few months off. Focus on the little goals and the big picture will come around. Nice work!

Bit of a recovery week after hitting 12 last weekend. Not much to say about this one. It was hot.

Thanks! Yeah, I did fall off the face of the earth for a while. Between work and the weather, it's been a rough year. Just started a new job a few weeks ago, so hopefully things will calm down soon so I can enjoy the weather.

Yep...it was one seriously hilly SOB. I'm a bit slow getting a race report up, but I'll post a link to it when I do. But despite the torrential downpour, it went very well.

    Jackson County Tri - swim 644 m 00:11:32 28:49 pace

Super slow, but no panicking this time around. Felt like I got through the swim without expending much energy. Wish I would have pushed more though.

I read your blog. I am in the same boat you were a few months ago. I started swimming a week ago w/ hopes of my first tri in August. Congratulations. It looks like you did great. I have the same motto, just survive in the water and hope for a good bike and run.

The two things that I had to get past were: a mental barrier, and trying to have perfect form from the start. I'm not saying coach K isn't a good coach, but I made my breakthroughs on my own. I just couldn't get anything to click while I was trying to concentrate on doing specific things. Now I feel like I'm ready to go back and start working more on my form.

Hey Mark, I think I'm ready.......hope I'm ready! If I can pace myself during the run and keep my HR sub 170 I should do okay. I was thinking about doing the Tinman too again this year but its the weekend after IMKS, I think I'll wait and see how squirrelly I'm feeling! Branson is a qualifier for Kona isn't it?

Thanks! Hopefully last year's cramping issues are behind me. @Ryan - yep, on Shunga. 2 miles from my house to the start, and I was able to fit the remaining 8.5 in just before I hit the end. Unfortunately I've seen a lot of Shunga the past few days. Damn snow...
