Coffee Run

Natilee wasn't available today, so ran instead, then rewarded myself with a latte at our favorite coffee shop. : ) Tempo-ish run, not within goal pace, but at least my legs were moving a little faster. 10 min warm up (plus leg swings - those feel good), 15 min tempo (8:44 pace), 10 min cool down.
I really dread tempo runs, but I need to incorporate them more into "off-season" running. I think if I do them more often and don't worry about the pace too much, they will get mentally easier. They are a good way to get a workout in a short amount of time too.

Nice variation to the Friday tradition, Rose! I have a hard time pushing tempo very often during off-season-- it's just too hot. Tempo "ish" is good!

I like to think of tempo runs as 'easy speed work' just because the pace is a bit slower. This mental reframing seems to help me get through them. Your tempo pace is speedy though!
