great Girls on Track practice 5K 3 mi

Joining a Girls On Track team in Camp Pendleton as a once a week coach for the rest of the season. Today was their practice 5K, so the toughest part of the walk/run was spending my time cajoling and chatting with the girls who were walking (actually it was really fun). I convinced them to run a couple of short sections of each lap, and we got 'er done. Drove by a beautiful all weather track on base that looked open and had different groups of people walking and running on it, not all Marine-looking. I wonder if I could run on it?

The best thing I did for my running program today was the pedicure that came with a foot massage. Man, that felt good!

    Oooo, doesn't it though? I luurve the part where they work all the knots out of my calves and soleus up to the knee... Good for you, giving back and volunteering to coach! I bet you're an inspiring role model to those girls!

    Pedicures are an excellent after run treat. A bit of soaking one's feet in hot water, some massage... and hot towels... very nice (I skip the polish step, alas.{wink})

    The poor head coach has been doing it by herself since the beginning of the season with 19 girls. Yikes! All I have to do is show up once a week and run a little and have fun with some great young girls. Easy-peasy!
