The weather today almost makes one forget about the snowy cold winter, almost. Beautiful day for a run and form felt good which made up for a lackluster attempt yesterday. Happy Thursday!

It's all good James. Good to live to fight another day and be smart today. You know where you were and that running at all is a big step foward, so good idea to listen to the bod. The heavy work on your new trainer prob did add to you being drained, you're right...rest up!

@Vern, I was thinking the exact same thing this morning -- but, I feel like if I don't run at least 3 miles that it's really not a run at all. Go figure.

Great cycling points James ...The wind is always tough ...Let me also suggest a cell phone when riding (probably do so anyway). Always makes me feel a little more secure ... Must have been a tad chill eh?

Good first lessons, James! Running into a headwind is tough, but to me wind is a bigger factor cycling than running. I don't have clip pedals, but can well imagine the discomfort of stopping while clipped in! :)

for some reason my butt can't take the trainer nearly as long as being out doors, which is so odd considering it's the same dang seat. I thinkt it's because out doors you have a tendancy to shift around. I am impressed you did an hour your first time on. I always put a fan in front of me so it keeps the sweat down a bit.

Leslie makes an interesting point. I do get used to my saddle, but I have to confess I can't stand the trainer. It would improve my technique tremendously, but I can't bring myself to do the workouts, so good for you! Love hearing that you're enjoying it! :)

oooh make sure to change out your back tire quick release skewer with the one that came with the trainer. I made the mistake of keeping original one that came with the bike.... eventually it wore down and no longer fit the trainer attachment so well and I did a not so graceful and slightly painful "dismount".
