Had an awesome hill workout today. We played a card game which determined how long the hill would be and if it would be seated or standing (based on black/red cards etc). The time passed pretty quickly. We did 22 hills, which varied from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. I was drenched by the time it was over! My Garmin has been acting up lately (so I am guessing on my distance), my RPMS have been reading fine (which is what i focus on for hills, keeping my cadence in range) but my speed/distance hasn't been reading. I tried to reset it but nothing is working?? :( any advice from people that have them????


In spinning class I always imagine the hills to be wicked steep but I discovered this week riding my bike to my new job that when you have fat tires, even a small incline can become a cardio challenge. And 3 mins. seems like an eternity on the trainer, but most of the real world slopes I ascend on the way to work take me longer than that. Sigh.
