gosh i feel slow. woke up early to get out there around 5:30am to beat the 90 + degree temps today. warmed up 2 miles then did 2 x 15 min tempo chunks with a 2 min jog in between. the pace was considerably slower (8:20s instead of low 8:00s) than when i was in half marathon training. could be the early wake up time, could be the increased mileage. whatever it is, its my first speed workout in a while besides hill sprints and a few strides/pick ups/progressive so im ok with it. i know the speed will come in the fall. and a few of these pounds will hopefully shed. new balance rc1400 are still comfy but not sure if they feel fast... i think the firmer brooks green silence makes for a faster shoe and theyre still my favorite. going to see the chiropractor shortly which is oddly fun


Somedays are just slow. Nothing wrong with that. Tempos are all about effort anyways. So good job, Michelle.

Mike is right, if it felt like a tempo run, then it has the same desired effect. I'd write it off to the early start, can be tough to get used to.

Some days you're just not feeling it. I know you have the speed! That kind of heat will zap you, though. Great job, Michelle!
