  1. RUN
good Work Loops 8 mi 00:53 06:33 pace

Good, but didn't feel as great as I have been. Although, the pace was quite brisk today, it just didn't feel as easy. Warm, humid, and windy....that didn't help.

  2. RUN
    great Withrow track 7 mi

Ran over to the track, did some really good drills and strides, then ran back home. Dropped a 6:20 on the way back just chilling. That means the legs feel really good. Going to be hard to hold b... read more

  3. RUN
great Work loops 7 mi 00:48 06:51 pace

Everything is feeling really great right now, but I'm still going to take it very easy this week. Having to hold back to keep from running faster. Warm and muggy today, but I enjoyed that mo... read more

  4. RUN
good Cove Lake State Park, TN 6 mi 00:44 07:15 pace

On our way to a wedding in SC. A quick morning run with light rain. Glad that I'm not worried about my mileage this week and feeling good about doing the bare minimum. Legs feel fine though.

  5. RUN
good Brevard, NC 6 mi 00:41 06:53 pace

Randomly stopped in Brevard on our way back from the wedding. Stef was getting car sick, so she took a quick nap and I got my run in. Cool little town. What mountain town isn't though?

  6. RUN
good Sharon Woods at lunch 8 mi 00:56 07:00 pace

Felt a little tired to start, but loosened up really nicely by the end. I hate humidity. Go away.

  7. RUN
    good Mariemont 8 mi 00:55 06:52 pace

I felt ok, but not as good as yesterday. I'm recovering from this trail 50 miler faster than I recovered from the marathon a month ago. Still want to take another week real easy and let the ... read more

  8. RUN
good Hyde Park 7 mi 00:47 06:42 pace

Felt really, really good today. It was warm, but I was kind fired up about something. Got to be smart though.

  9. I wanted the course record. I needed the win. It was never about Western States. My Ice Age 50 race report. http://riddleruns.blogspot.com/2013/05/ice-age-race-report.html

  10. RUN
alright Work Loops 6 mi 00:44 07:19 pace

No Tuesday night track tonight, I ran loops again after work. My running buddy, Max, his apartment almost burned down last night so he needed to run a little with someone. My legs felt fine, but ... read more

  11. RUN
good Work loops 6 mi 00:45 07:33 pace

Felt pretty good again today, but still need to take it easy for a while.

  12. RUN
good Burlington, WI 7 mi 00:56 08:00 pace

I felt pretty good for racing 50 miles yesterday. This is probably the best I've felt the morning following any race 50miles or longer. I think I left a little gas in the tank yesterday. St... read more

good Ice Age Trail 50 Mile Race 50 mi 05:57 07:08 pace

Won the race, but missed the course record by 3 minutes. It was a deceptively tough course, but I ran smart and ran well. I just didn't quite have enough legs to snag the CR. Pleased with m... read more

Daniel, the course was tough. No big mountains, but constant short, steep rollers. It wouldn't make a bad first ultra, but I would highly recommend running part of the course as part of a long run to get some specific training.

  14. RUN
good Ice Age Trail, La Grange, WI 6.6 mi 00:47 07:07 pace

The legs feel good, but this course is not going to be easy. Deceptively hard. Will really need to stay under control and run within myself early.

  15. RUN
good Hyde Park 6.4 mi 00:44 06:52 pace

An easy six with Nye. Feeling good. Fresh. Can't complain. Ready to race.

  16. RUN
good Work loops 7 mi 00:48 06:52 pace

Good. Loops after work. Just ran easy and kept the heart rate under 140. Went to the Reds game today as a work field trip, so it was a very relaxing day all around.

  17. RUN
    great Withrow Track 10 mi

Nice shakeout workout. 3 mile warmup, 4x1600m @5:35 w/400m jog, 2 mile cool down. Very good, very controlled. Didn't rain all day except the hour I was running. It was kind of refreshing t... read more

  18. RUN
good Work Loops 7 mi 00:47 06:42 pace

Good stuff. Nice, easy, short taper run. Just loops on the track and grass at 4:30 this afternoon. Kept it relaxed and practiced bringing the pace back into check when I dipped under 6:30.

  19. Just posted an update on the blog. Covers a lot of ground...past and future. Racing Ice Age 50 mile next weekend. http://riddleruns.blogspot.com/2013/05/everything-bagel.html
