Great break from work...to then return to work & find myself granted an extra dose of stress n' pressure and a throbbing headache. This "work" is for the birds!

good Lotta hills 5.5 mi
Felt good outside today. I got in a nice "long" run for once. It went well & felt good. Slight pain in left hip area though at mile 5. Not sure what that's all about.

Nice miles RT. Hip tightness and pain is quite common for runners. Some good routines to loosen out hips/IT band on this site, under ITB workouts I think. Gives a video showing you what to do, might be worth a look before the pain becomes something worse, http://strengthrunning.com/

Nice Job:
I usually go on Wikipedia and see which muscles and tendons are there where the soreness is coming from then search on them specifically. Outer back side of the hip would benefit from it band stretches like Brian mentioned.

At least you got out and did it! Most people would've used congestion as an excuse to sit on their arse and do nothing. Good job.

Ow. Having a lot of construction nearby is a hazard - seemed like I was always picking up a nail in my tires. Time for a Tetanus shot if you haven't had one in a while :-(

It's great that excercise can help dump most of that work related stress. Your personal wellness is more important.
