A really fun first race - gorgeous day here in NE Ohio and it was awesome running along the Portage bike and hike trail through all the trees. I was really surprised that people came out of their houses to cheer us on and it made the first mile fly by.

After the halfway mark I found myself running next to (sometimes ahead of, sometimes behind) a lady and her very young daughter. I just beat the daughter to the finish line and she won a prize for coming in the top 3 of girls aged 1-14. Anyway, I finished in the top 20 for my age/sex and that's good enough for me.

    Good job! I was surprised there were so many people there! It was really great to be back on campus and the weather was just perfect.
