Did a nice and even-paced loop of the lake in the drizzly rain. My real struggle has been getting my breathing and pace right so I can just keep going and I feel like in the last couple of weeks I've made real progress. Now it's just the mental aspect that I need to focus on - keeping myself motivated to push for that extra fraction of a mile so I can run for longer and longer.


You are doing so great! It's no big secret that one of my favorite motivators is racing -- maybe you can find a 5K race happening locally and put it on the calendar. There's the thrill of racing, of course, plus a free tee shirt (for the cost of registration)!

Thanks! Olly and I are running the 5k at Kent this weekend, and knowing I was training for that has kept me going a couple of times recently. It's my first race ever - eep! - and aside from a few nerves I'm really looking forward to it. Hoping for a time of 30 mins, and I think Olly will come in somewhere around 26.
