I agree, Maureen. Breaking in shoes? "Ain't nobody got time for that." ;-) Danielle, I think you'd like the Intuitions. They are zero drop, but are softer on the feet than the Merrells. Not as soft/bouncy as the PureFlow though... it is hard to explain. I did go up 1/2 size on the Intuitions and it is a good fit.

Dick Pond in STC. The Energy is $119 which is "cheap" for that brand, don't think I could ever spend $175 on a pair of shoes! I really like Merrell's Bare Access Arc 2, and I am going to try the Altra Intuitions because I heard good things about them. I usually just have one pair of shoes at a time, but I want to have 2-3 to rotate so my feet get a little break from the same pair. Roadrunnersports.com has a 90-day wear guarantee, and usually decent prices.

Oh no :( mine rubbed my ankle for the first few runs, but that seemed to be my only problem. I do wear a thicker sock with mine, than with my merrells, I think because the insole fabric is harsher, it feels better that way.
