Nice cool, early morning run... which I have been trying to sync for 45 minutes. Garmin and Safari hate runners.

RUN
alright 5.42 mi 00:50 09:16 pace
Slogged around some fields in the country with Maile. Having fits trying to upload runs from my Forerunner 205 on Mac OS X 10.7, and I'm not Lion. (har)

I stuck with snow leopard. Nice run. Better joke. You guys should hook up with matt and I for a run around Hanford. Promote fitness and what not.

Does anyone have any secret tricks and / or magic voodo spells that allow one to use Safari 5.0.3 to work on a consistent basis with the Garmin plugin? Each time I try to sync an activity from my F... read more

That's weird that it gives you trouble. I have the older non-gps garmin watch that uploads wirelessly by using a usb dongle thing-a-ma-jig and the edge 305 cycling gps which has a usb cable. They always uploads flawlessly to Garmin Training Center and Ascent which are standalone software packages and then to garmin connect website and daily mile as well, using safari. i'm still safari 5.0.2 though.

I go straight into Safari w/ the Garmin using the browser plugin. I can use Chrome on Windows 7, but there is no Chrome plugin for OSX. Does Safari pull the data from the device or from one of the standalone software programs?

I assume directly from the watch or gps, but I'm not sure. I'll try it and see.

Ok, I finally used the Garmin again and here's a follow up. I actually can't tell if dailymile pulls directly from the watch or from the garmin connect website because as soon as I launch the little utility that manages the usb fob that communicates to my watch, it automatically logs the event up to the garmin connect website. Whatever it does, it seems to work for me. I hope it stops giving you problems.

It went well. But Garmin and Dailymile and Safari refuse to play nicely together. They refuse. #refuseniks
