    After slim to none training and registering for the race on-site, I had a most enjoyable trail race with my cousin. He had a wicked kick in the last 100m and got me by 4 seconds.

      Don't do it. They're way overhyped. If you want to donate to the Wounded Warrior project, do it directly, but there's a dozen other "mud run" events that are better organized and actually have respect for their participants.
