  1. RUN
    good Arenal 20K 12.31 mi 01:54 09:15 pace

First run of the New Year. Ran from the Lost Iguana Resort to La Fortuna to pick up our Rental Car. 20K, 12.3 hilly miles. Incredible view of the volcano during the run.

  2. RUN
good Tango Mar Mirador 3.09 mi 00:31 09:58 pace

Just three miles to cap off the year. A little walking through the jungle on the way back to the room. Extreme humidity and a little heat make for tough running.

  3. RUN
good Tango Mar Waterfalls and Trails 4.59 mi 00:56 12:04 pace

Slow run through the property at Tango Mar to the Waterfall, and then back toward Tambor. Quite a few hills. Amazing what a few hills and a little bit of heat will do to your time.

  4. RUN
Tango Mar Beach 2 mi 00:20 10:00 pace

Four lengths of the beach. The most barefoot running I have done. It was enjoyable but I ended up developing the start of a blister on my big toe. Shoes and trails for the rest of the trip.

  5. RUN
alright Tango Mar 8 Mile 8.08 mi 01:19 09:45 pace

Ran from Tango Mar Resort to the main highway, and then on toward Montezuma. Lots of hills, and lots of sweat. Pretty slow run overall. Some dogs didn't look very friendly, but let me pass.

  6. RUN
good Christmas Morning on the Ditc... 6.06 mi 01:21 13:19 pace

Easy run with RRF on Christmas Morning. Five runners, seven falls. Fortunately, I was the only one to remain upright.

  7. RUN
    good Huffaker/Rattlesnake Run 10.54 mi 02:13 12:35 pace

Fun trail and road run with the RRF Ultra Training Group. Lots of stopping/waiting. Temps in the 30s and winds about the same. I ran most of the way with Juan. Lots of hills. This was my first tim... read more

  8. RUN
alright Hole in the Wall out/back 8.75 mi 01:24 09:35 pace

Wet, cold, windy, snowy. Miserable all in all. Glad I ran.

  9. RUN
good Reno High to Mayberry out and... 7.31 mi 01:19 10:45 pace

Slow, casual run with Michael, Roland, Rebecca and Jason. Met John and Jared at the turnaround. Talked for a while and headed back with John and Jared.

  10. RUN
good Tucson Rillito River Run 7.63 mi 01:01 07:55 pace

Rainy Saturday morning run along the dry Rillito River. The trail on the south side of the river was abandoned, and I ended up hopping a couple of fences. Fun, soggy run.

  11. RUN
great Into the trees 5.46 mi 00:47 08:34 pace

Wanted to run 5 easy miles at lunch. Took off up Cashill, and instead of turning down to the ditch trail, kept heading up, past Caughlin Ranch School, on to the dirt and up into the trees and snow.... read more

    good Ditch Trail 10K 6.21 mi 00:47 07:36 pace

First run with the Garmin Heart Rate Monitor. Pushed it pretty hard to get a good baseline for Ultra Training. I believe I set my 10K PR. Not bad considering I was racing myself.

  13. RUN

First real run in two weeks. Kept it to an 8:39 overall pace. Upper legs started to tire, hips got sore. No NSAIDs before or during the run.
